NFC business cards for contractors and home services: quotes, crews and reviews

A contractor's introduction can lead to an estimate, a service call and a future referral. For plumbers, HVAC technicians, electricians, appliance repair businesses and cleaning crews, an NFC business card makes contact details and useful links easy to open at the visit. A separate Google Review Card gives the customer a route to feedback after the work is complete. Here is how to choose each card around the job cycle in Canada and the United States.

Choose the card around the person and the visit

PVC is a lightweight, lower-cost networking card for crew members who meet customers during everyday visits. Metal suits an owner or estimator who wants the stainless-steel finish and an engraved QR backup when presenting a larger installation, renovation or repair quote. Both share an editable digital profile; the material does not change the need for a useful conversation.

Use the separate Google Review Card when the purpose is customer feedback. A homeowner looking for your phone number should open the networking profile. Someone choosing to review a completed job should open the correct Google review page. Make that distinction clear before offering the tap.

At the estimate, make the next contact easy

After discussing the work, offer to share your contact details. Hold the NFC card near the reading area of a compatible phone and explain that the customer opens the notification to reach your profile. They do not need a Pick Card app. Keep the physical card for the next visit.

Put the business name, phone, email and website on the profile, with an existing quote-request or booking link if you use one. Check that the destination works on a phone. A tap opens the profile; it does not automatically collect the homeowner's details, add a lead to a CRM or book an appointment.

  • Show the customer where to call or request the next step.
  • Send the profile link digitally if they prefer to look later.
  • Keep a paper leave-behind available for an unattended property or someone who does not want to use a phone.

Carry a field card with a practical backup

PVC keeps the networking card light. Metal has a stainless-steel body with metal finishes on both faces, a separate NFC chip attached to the back and an engraved QR code opening the same profile. The standard PVC offer includes NFC and a digitally shareable profile link, without Metal's engraved QR backup.

Keep either card in a separate pocket or holder rather than loose among tools and abrasive materials. These material descriptions are not waterproof or impact ratings. Test the tap before the day's visits; phone settings, reader position and a thick case or wallet attachment can affect it. Metal's QR code is another way to open the profile, and both routes need internet access.

After the job, offer an honest review without a deadline

Finish the work, explain the invoice and answer the customer's questions first. Then offer the Google Review Card with a simple invitation: If you would like to share honest feedback, this tap opens our Google review page. Check the correct business and branch before the crew starts using the card. The customer needs a Google account to submit a review.

Offer the same opportunity consistently. Let the customer choose whether to respond, what rating to give and when to write; send the direct link if they prefer to do it later. Avoid rewards, selecting only customers likely to give five stars, or asking them to post before you leave. A tap opens the review page and does not submit feedback automatically.

Google describes local ranking through relevance, distance and prominence, which includes review counts and ratings. The card makes your link easier to open; it cannot guarantee reviews, a particular rating or a ranking improvement. The existing trades review guide below covers the review-request routine in more detail.

Equip the crew with profiles and proofs that stay useful

Plan who needs an individual networking profile and which business or branch each Review Card should open. Gather the correct names, roles, contact details and logos, then have someone check the final proofs before engraving. For a card intended to change hands, consider business branding rather than a permanent employee name.

Pick Card's profile detail updates and digital reassignment are free, with no subscription. You can change an online phone number, role or website, but reassignment does not remove an engraved name or logo. Ask Pick Card to confirm quantities and the order total rather than assuming a crew discount. The Amar Appliance Repair example above shows real Metal-card engraving for a home-service business, not a claim about its bookings or reviews.

Compare the Canadian bundle totals before ordering

For Canadian shipping addresses, a $75 CAD PVC Card plus a $25 CAD Google Review Card totals $100 CAD before shipping and tax. That is the same price as the $100 CAD Metal Card, which includes a free separate Google Review Card. Choose around the material, weight and Metal's engraved QR backup; the two bundles have the same Canadian product subtotal.

For Canadian shipping addresses, standard shipping is $20 CAD per order, with applicable taxes extra. The Canadian prices in this guide stay in CAD. Product pages follow your browsing region; final prices and currency follow your shipping destination: CAD for Canada, GBP for the UK and USD elsewhere.

Custom designs have a final proof before production. Pick Card prepares the proof within 2 business days, and cards ship within 3–5 business days after approval, separate from carrier transit. Allow for revisions and delivery before promising cards for a crew's start date.

A couple of common questions

Should every crew member carry the same material?

Choose around the person's visits and preferences. PVC is lightweight and lower-priced on its own; Metal adds a stainless-steel finish, engraved QR backup and a separate Review Card. Matching business branding can work across both materials.

Do I need to buy a separate Review Card with Metal?

The $100 CAD Metal Card for Canadian shipping addresses includes a free separate Google Review Card. The $75 CAD PVC Card does not include one; adding a $25 CAD Review Card brings its product subtotal to $100 CAD before shipping and tax.

Does a tap save a contact or post a review automatically?

No. A networking card opens your digital profile, and the separate Review Card opens the Google review page. The customer chooses what to do next, including whether to save details or submit feedback.
